Mission Impossible - Product Placement

Mission: Impossible III is set to hit theatres next month with the Land Rover LR3 ousting the GM-owned Hummer for the starring automobile placement.

Word is that the producers thought the Ford Land Rover was the right SUV for the film due to its boxy-shape. Us in the industry would bet that the deal had a few dollars behind it.

Does Tom Cruise still have the “star integration power” that he once had? Tom’s black Rayban sunglasses that he showcased with his young suburban innocence in “Risky Business” still deserves being credited as one of the product placement industry’s greatest film moments.
